Intake valves leaking:air noise in intake tract, on cylinder head on intake side.
Piston rings, pistons, cylinder bore defective:Air noise at crankcase ventilation or at oil dipstick.
Cylinder head gasket defective:air noise in neighboring cylinder, spark plug bore.
Cylinder head gasket defective or crack in cylinder head:air noise or bubbling in cooling system or expansion tank.
